STRUTTIN’

Welcome to another fabulous post! I am bringing you a project I had fun creating…….

A dear friend tagged me with this new challenge blog……WORDS and PAINTERY.  Must I say WOW!! I am fairly new to mixed media but………….am having tons of fun with it!!! I use it on my scrapbooking pages………….find it adds dimension and texture. I have not delved into canvasses, yet. but am planning two canvases as Christmas presents. In October, Words and Paintery presented us with this color challenge.

Words+&+Paintery+Challenge+October

I love these colors…………..they remind me of the colors I use on my winter layouts but I found this inspirational piece on Pinterest…………..fell in love with it!  I decided to combine the two pieces.

Soooooooooooo, I came up with this version: STRUTTIN’

P1060422

I started out with a off white canvas. I added the hexagon stencils using modeling paste. Adding layers upon layers of light and medium blue paint, yellow mist, midnight blue mist and green mist. I painted the plastic covered chicken wire with hunter green spray paint. I then decided to use fall colored leaves but they were to bright so I inked them with TH frayed burlap distressing ink. I also cut out other leaves with my Big Shot. I clustered the leaves and attached to the page. I added the dark brown burlap under the leaves. After matting the fantastic photo of our chicken, I wrapped the bottom of it with gold/brown/white twine and tied a bow………..leaving tails. I journalled on the computer(Dakota handwriting) and printed it on the blue. After tearing it out, I inked it with TH mustard seed and Prima pastel brown.

Thank you for joining me while I reveal this fabulous piece of art.
