Welcome to the Scrappin’ Peeps summer Camp Iwannascrap blog hop. I am pleased to be a part of  this fun hop! You will see several fantastic projects! If you have arrived here by accident…..great!!! Start you hop along at Mandi’s blog. You should have came from Stella’s blog…..if not check her out.

When given the summer camp idea and asked to run with it……………….I decided, well, thought on it. What should I do??? I could do anything!!! A recent event, here at our place, is the engagement of Tim to his fiance’ Kayla. While he asked her to marry him last August, they are working hard to get the wedding preparations done. They decided to ask a good friend’s mother to marry them. She is the Justice of the Peace or so they thought! Kayla wanted to do something different to ask her. Since she has chickens and Kayla’s family just bought chicks…………..Kayla decided to “dress” up two chicks………….in a box………….to ask her. Kayla’s grandmother helped with the bow tie and veil. I helped turn a shoe box into a work of art. They soon found out that their friend’s mom was not a Justice of the Peace but she was thinking of becoming one……………this was the “push” for her.

Kayla wanted something simple………….the box will ask her to marry them. We decided to use nothing other than wood……….yes, paper. I pieced the wood paper together so it looked like one whole piece of paper. Some of the seams are covered with a natural colored cording………….mostly on the bottom. We picked the paper for the die cuts and Kayla cut them out with my Cricut. We put them together and enhanced them. The wood picket fence was painted white. I had the grass border, we just added dimension to it. I cut the letters out with my Sizzix and Vintage Marketplace die. Since Kayla loves sunflowers……….we put a couple on the box. I sent Kayla home with all the pieces and she put it together. Although this project seems simple…………………It took us three hours to complete.  Check out the bow tie and veil on those cute chicks!!!!

What a cute idea Robyn! Love it! The biggest event that’s happened this year is that my son asked his girlfriend to marry him – he asked her on Valentines Day. They are getting married May 2015. I can’t believe my baby is getting married!

Cute chicks! Sounds like you & your family have a lot of excitement ahead. This summer, the biggest thing that has happened for me (so far) is that I visited two of national parks – Arches & Canyonlands – in Utah. Both were awesome! Thank you for being in the blog hop.

  3. Cute idea! I love the outfits on the chicks.

This summer has been pretty dull. For example, an evening at the drive-in movies was a big event. But, so far the biggest has been a joint birthday party / 4th of July gathering of friends. We love having dinner with friends on the wonderful DH made for us. The grand finale event will be a big Traditional Labor Day bbq. We are going to play horseshoes, marbles, jacks, pick-up-sticks and don’t forget the standard Labor Day pastime….hatchet throwing. 🙂

This is so stinkin’ cute! Love it Robyn! And congratulations! Yay wedding! This summer, the biggest thing that has happened to me (so far) is that I completed couple art lessons with the kids from our neighbourhood and they love it!! I am so proud of them!

What a cute project Robyn! Congrats on their engagement! So far our biggest thing is visiting Mackinaw Island. What a wonderful place. Probably bigger yet, is when we take our oldest son to college! We’re so proud of him!

Those little chickies are ADORABLE! Such a cute project to share with the bride-to-be!

Biggest event of the Summer so far would probably be Camp Iwannascrap, it was my first time as Camp Director – it has been a lot of fun pulling things together for it. Many thanks to our blog hoppers for your contributions!!
