MY ANIMAL

My inspiration for this LO came in a couple of forms. First, the Inspirational Challenges over at Scrappin’-Peeps ………………make a quilt inspired LO. Well, I love quilts……..can not make them but love to look at them!  When at the fairs, I always check out the quilts that are in the exhibit halls. I am fascinated with the impeccable workmanship that goes into them!!! I fell in love with this quilt that was constructed in squares……….many squares…………one on top of another. It was simple yet beautiful. I decided to follow that pattern on my LO but since my LO’s are 81/2×11, I had to use rectangles. I also utilized two different form of stitching: the blanket stitch and straight stitch which is broken in several places to make it look like I had problems sewing…………that is a possibility as my sewing machine and me have a love/hate relationship!  I was also inspired by the challenge over at About A Boy Challenge Blog. It involves using black and white and ONE other color. My color was green since there was green in the photo. I also love the color green……………….in fact hunter green and yellow are our farm colors so you might see a lot of green pop up here! I also love textures………………………..the addition of them adds that extra to my pages that define “me” and who I am. This photo was taken three weeks ago, at Daniel’s first fair. He was ready to hit the show ring and compete in showmanship!  Kids love our sheep……………..they are small and fuzzy……………..oh yea, friendly!
